The protagonist falls a great distance, onto a large dragon's head. Thinking that the protagonist was only pretending, the arrogant soldier threaten to toss them off the airship, and the oblivious, dumb soldier accidentally knocks them off for real. A battle begins, and after the protagonist thinks they have won, one of the soldiers surprises the protagonist from behind and ends up hitting them on the back of the head, causing amnesia. Soon afterwards, however, two men dressed as soldiers emerge from barrels from on board the airship aiming to steal what the protagonist is keeping safe for delivery. The game begins with the protagonist riding a flying ship heading to Selphia to deliver a blue orb to the Native Dragon, Ventuswill. Marvelous AQL had previously announced that Rune Factory 4 would not be released in Europe in the foreseeable future, stating that, 'While MarvelousAQL has made every effort to secure the title's release for this territory, it is, unfortunately, not possible to do so at this time.' XSeed has released an eShop only version in PAL regions and as of December 11th, 2014, the game has been officially released in Europe.
